After a first stop in command, with the Lancer Evolution "33" Group N, the Roman driver was forced to retire in the second day of competition due to a slide off the road that forced him to hospital as a precaution.
Rome, 24th of May 2015 - It was a Rally of Portugal definitely haunted this year for Max Rendina and Mario Pizzuti who had to stop during the second stage as they went off the road, driving the Lancer Evolution Mitsubibishi Group N Pirelli tires.
Yesterday, during the ninth special stage, the crew of MotorSportItalia, until then leading the race with authorities of the world championship "Produzione", had to raise the white flag, thus interrupting a race which until then was largely confirming their values on the field.
The accident forced Max Rendina to hospital as a precaution and the first widespread prognosis by the doctors has been twenty days of forced stop before full physical recovery. For this reason participation in the Rally of Italy-Sardinia , expected in mid-June, is a strong risk.
However, No physical substantial consequences for the co-driver Mario Pizzuti.
Max Rendina's comment: "I want to reassure my fans and all those who have shown their affection. Despite the nasty accident I feel pretty good. At the hospital doctors are doing me deepened check-ups and said i will need twenty days of complete rest. Sincere thanks to all! ".
